HISTORY
Brooke Tatnell grew up at the Speedway, watching father George racing
Stock Cars, Midgets and Sprintcars, so it was only natural that Brooke
would start racing too.
He first drove in a mechanic's race at the age of 13 at Parramatta City
Raceway, where he had to prop himself up in the seat using two phone
books and a pillow!! In a "Speed Machine" interview, Brooke reminisced
about the race, saying "I was a rocket-ship. I was so fast I thought I
was setting the world on fire, until I saw my dad running on the in-field
saying 'come on son, the accelerator's on the right!!'"

His first "real" race was in 1987, in a Sprintcar at age 16. A natural
talent, his first race win came in only his fifth event. He went on to
become the 1988 Rookie of the Year.

Brooke first ventured to the United States in 1999 to race with the
World of Outlaws with his own team, the highlight of the year being
second at Cottage Grove. He has returned to the United States each
year since. His first World of Outlaws round win came at the Jetmore
Motorplex in Kansas in August 2003, where he became the first non-
American to ever win a World of Outlaws round.

In what must be classed as destiny, after 17 years of trying, and being
turned away from Customs in Los Angeles, on 12 February 2005 Brooke
became the Australian Sprintcar Champion, after an enthralling race at
Murray Bridge Speedway.
After dominating the 2005/2006 Australian Sprintcar Season with the
Krikke Motorsport Team, including his fifth World Series Sprintcars
Championship, he backed up his 2005 Australian Sprintcar Title win
with another Title win for the Krikke Motorsport Team in Brisbane
on 4 February 2006, giving him back-to-back Titles.
Brooke's 2006 American Season was his best to date. With the Rush
Racing Team, he won four rounds and one preliminary, set quick time
six times, including smashing the Lap Record at Knoxville Raceway,
and finished sixth in the World of Outlaws Championship, despite
missing five rounds due to returning home to Australia to be with
his father, George, for health reasons.
