World Series Sprintcars began in 1987, and is the top Sprintcar Series

in Australia. Well-known Commentator and Speedway Personality Wade

Aunger now runs the Series, and over the last few years has turned it

into the most professionally-run and popular Series in the country.

George Tatnell was the first World Series Sprintcars Champion, with

other winners including Brad Heywood, Garry Brazier, Skip Jackson

and American Daryn Pittman. Having won six times, Max Dumesny

has the record of the most Series wins, but Brooke Tatnell has the

most individual round wins, currently 51, and still counting.

Naming rights sponsor Proton Cars Australia makes an enormous

contribution to the Series by providing both the "Proton Jumbuck

Speed Week" Champion and the Series Champion with a Proton.

The Rookie of the Year stands to win a trip to the United States

and a drive with the Richard Petty Driving Experience, amongst

other things, thanks to Sponsor and Team Owner Bill Mann.

World Series Sprintcars put on a great show for the race fans,

not only with fantastic racing, but also the giant screen showing

replays, video clips and behind-the-scenes stories to entertain

during track grades and interval breaks. Fans can also purchase

merchandise from the Rolling Thunder Trailer, including:
